![]() ![]() So if I were you, I’d either look to pick it up on the Epic Store while it’s still free or purchase it because you specifically want to support Frontier Developments. Is RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 a better game than Parkitect? Not really. The caveat is that its launch price of $19.99 on Steam puts it in direct competition with Parkitect, a game that is the closest to a true successor you will find on the market. This isn’t exactly the dream-worthy remaster I’d have loved, but it is a faithful relaunch of a Tycoon classic that now actually runs properly on modern machines. However, all of the positives have stuck around too. Unsurprisingly, most of the flaws present in the original game are still there. A fun rideĪll things considered, I had a fun time playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition. Although for those who want exactly that, the tools are very much still there to do so. This was a huge selling point for me as I prefer working towards a set goal rather than jumping into Sandbox mode and arbitrarily building rollercoasters. These link together well and have you learn a new mechanic or take on a more difficult challenge each time. I think it's time you think about jumping on the SteamPlay bandwagon. In comparison, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 has three separate campaigns: one for the base game and one for each expansion pack. In RCT3 (Rollercoaster Tycoon 3) you can building amazing rides then hop and live the experience. I'm sorry Aspyr, but you could have changed my mind by simply offering Wild for $20 dollars and I would have been slightly happier and wouldn't have had this to say. The Mac porting houses trying to charge premium prices for games that they port over two or more years later no longer has to be swallowed. I have been a supporter of Aspyr over the years, but sadly I'm starting to hope Valve and Steam blows them out of the water. In addition, I can acquire the PC version of this for a full $20 dollars less via Steam on my Boot Camp partition (which isn't necessary as I already own all three packs for PC). That includes repurchasing the original and Soaked pack that I already own. I already own RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon Soaked for the Mac, however Aspyr feels I should pay a full $50 dollars to add Wild to my existing installation. ![]() My review is more about how Mac porting companies still don't seem to get it when it comes to customer relations. Now most machines are powerful enough to run the game at its full potential, this was an issue originally. The game is great, I've enjoyed this since it originally came out for the PC.
